This policy describes the data we collect when you visit, what we do with it, and when it may reach someone else. Reading or using any part of this site means you accept the practices below.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

When you type a name or a date of birth into a search box here, that input travels straight to the outside provider that runs the search. The provider handles it and returns results. We do not store or log what you typed.

Messages and Contact Submissions

If you email us, we keep the message so we can answer it. It stays with our team, and we do not pass it to anyone outside the organization unless a legal obligation requires that.

Data We Gather Automatically

Each time a page loads, our servers record a few technical details about the visit:

  • The IP address of the device you are using
  • Your browser and its version
  • Your device type and operating system
  • The pages you opened and how long each stayed on screen
  • The site that referred you, if a referral exists
  • A timestamp for each page view

Cookies and Analytics

We use cookies, which are small files stored on your device, to see how visitors move through the site and which pages draw the most traffic. Analytics services help us total that activity. You can block cookies through your browser settings at any time, though some parts of the site may then behave differently.

What We Do With This Data

  • Keeping pages online, available, and quick to load
  • Routing your search request to the correct partner service
  • Learning which pages help readers and which need work
  • Finding and repairing technical problems
  • Showing advertising that may relate to your interests

No Warrant Data on File

This site does not host, build, or sell any database of warrants or personal warrant records. We publish general guidance about where Genesee County records sit and how to reach them through the 67th District Court, the 7th Judicial Circuit Court, and the sheriff's office. Court files follow the Michigan court rules, including MCR 8.119 on public access, while county administrative records fall under the Michigan Freedom of Information Act, MCL 15.231 et seq. This site is not a public body under that act and is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, so nothing we collect about visitors becomes a consumer report.

Third-Party Search Partners

Search boxes here are operated by outside companies. Whatever you enter into one of those tools is processed under that partner's privacy policy rather than this one. Those partners set their own retention and sharing rules, and we do not control them. Read the partner's policy before you run a search.

Links to Other Websites

We link to court pages, sheriff's office pages, legal aid groups, and outside search services. Following any of those links takes you off this site, and the destination's privacy policy then governs your visit. Read it before you share personal details. Some advertising partners may also track activity across sites to display targeted ads, and that tracking runs on their systems rather than ours.

Who Might See Your Data

We do not sell personal data. Some information may still reach:

  • Search partners that handle the queries you run here
  • Analytics providers that measure traffic and performance
  • Ad networks that place advertising on our pages
  • Law enforcement or government offices when a valid legal order requires it

How We Protect Your Data

We follow standard security practices for the data we hold. Nothing connected to the internet is fully safe, though. We take reasonable steps to protect your information, and we cannot promise that a breach will never occur.

Users Under 18

This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has shared data with us, contact us and we will remove it promptly.

Your Data Rights

Michigan has no single consumer privacy law that mirrors the broad statutes in some other states. Where Michigan law gives you a right over your own data, or where a record you want is held by a Michigan public body, these options apply:

  • Ask for a copy of what we hold about you
  • Ask us to correct information that is wrong
  • Ask us to erase your data
  • Opt out of certain kinds of processing

For records held by a court or county office, the request route is different. Court files follow MCR 8.119, and county administrative records follow the Michigan Freedom of Information Act, MCL 15.231 et seq.

Updates to This Policy

We may revise this policy later. When we do, the new version appears on this page with a fresh effective date. Check back if you want to follow how we handle visitor information.
